About the event
This edition of Drinks x Design at the historic Cadieux stage features Detroit's vibrant landscape of Photographers, Videographers and Production studios.
The work of Detroit-based image-makers will be projected onto the city's largest cyc-walls alongside programming from Citizen Creative, Baity Films, Someday Detroit, Nova24 and Michigan members of Diversify Photo.

Your Best Light
Day Studio | A headshot pop-up studio by Baity Films
Upon arrival, event attendees will have the opportunity to sign up for a portrait session with the team from Baity Films. Portrait sessions will last approximately 10 minutes and can accomodate anywhere from 1-10 people. Baity films will be showcasing the range and capabilities of their mobile studio.
Detroit's Own
Sound Stage South | Large-scale Image Installation
Experience the work of Detroit-based photographers at scale. Images from Diversify Photo members and other Detroit-based image makers will be projected onto the largest cyc wall in the city.
Someday Detroit
Sound Stage North | Image installation, sonic landscape and culinary magic
Someday's dynamic range will be on display with co-founders Trotter and Jantae' will be showcasing their specialties. In addition to a sample of the duos baking expertise, Jantae' will be the event's musical guest alongside an image installation from Trotter.
Someday is a creative studio merging visual & culinary art(s), crafting hospitality. Founders Jantae' Spinks & Trotter are award-winning and renowned creators. Having spent the past decade freelancing in various commercial industries around the world, the duo who're also high-school sweethearts [ @CassTech #1 Second to None ] made the decision to return to Detroit with intention to develop an accessible art space that propels voices & stories from Detroit and beyond. Today, the burgeoning studio operates its first brick and mortar concept, an art gallery and bakery experience in Detroit's historic NorthEnd located at 2857 East Grand Boulevard!

Sound Stage Crow's Nest | Collaborative Video Experiment with Citizen Creative
Event attendees are invited to particpate in documentary-style video interviews to share their thoughts on the topic of Creative Community. Footage will be woven together into a tapestry that tells a larger story about what creatives value and what community means to them. Aretha Lobby | Detroit's First Photo & Video Festival.
NOVA, the Latin word for “new”, brings that energy of creation to the forefront of Detroit + beyond. 24, in reference to not only the year of the festival, but our own photo + film history. 24 frames per second of film, 24 shots in a roll - 24 defines our ingenuity as we produce the best this medium has to offer.

ABOUT CADIEUX STAGE
Cadieux Stage was built in 1937 and was the home of Wilding Studios for many years. During that time the company filmed countless industrial films and commercials for a long list of corporate and government clients. Notable musicians that have worked at Cadieux include Aretha Franlkin, Bob Seger, Grand Funk Railroad, Paul Shafer, Gloria Estefan & more.
In 2022, their team began a renovation of the Cadieux Stage to bring it into the 21st century and become a premiere location for production and events in Detroit. “We are excited to be part of the East Warren/East English Village neighborhood and to support local creative and community groups,” said current owner, Chris.
