Design Salon: Business to Business Matchmaking for Creative Services
Our signature Design Salons s serve to connect clients with the design talent they need for a specific project by facilitating a Q&A between the buyers and Detroit Design Network members. Whether they’re looking for an architect, graphic designer, photographer or industrial designer, potential new clients can utilize this free service to explain the project requirements and constraints and be introduced to designers with the interest and capabilities required to do the work. While this does not take the place of a typical procurement process, the service does accelerate the process and help ensure a success relationship.
PROCESS

A potential client contacts Design Core for a professional referral.

Design Core meets virtually with the client to ensure the RFP, Scope of Work, or Hire a Designer intake form are complete, clear and realistic

Design Core and the client schedule a one hour, virtual Design Salon at a mutually agreeable time

Design Core posts the opportunity to the Design Network via the weekly newsletter and also sends targeted invites to members listed in the directory under the requested design discipline

The business or organization seeking services starts the Design Salon by explaining the project and their needs in as much detail as possible

Designers ask clarifying questions and then introduce themselves and their capabilities as they relate to this particular project

Design Core facilitates a clear understanding of next steps and the process for selection and, at that point, their role is finished, except to follow up for a testimonial or report on what followed.

After the event, designers follow guidelines for consideration, the buyer makes a selection and the parties enter into a contract.
Business Coaching
One-on-one business consultations help design-driven entrepreneurs or small businesses access resources, strengthen their business and connect to professional services.
